DAVID TERRELL received his art training at Washington University in St. Louis and The School of Visual Arts in New York City. A long-time,
award-winning graphic designer and illustrator, his personal drawings often arise from a lifetime of exploring the mountains, fly fishing, and
his observations of nature.
“Having studied martial arts for over 30 years as well, their discipline has uniquely balanced my life and artwork.” There is a term in
Japanese, Kenbun Ichi, which means, essentially, that the sword and pen are one, can balance and complement each other within the
individual.
“My works are primarily concerned with moods, almost Zen-like moments and places. Earliest artists portrayed the activities of their daily
lives and their relationships with nature. I find inspiration and satisfaction in these as well. I try to depict things I have seen, done and care
about. Through them, I draw myself.”
